Trick Trick the king of Detroit hip hop

Trick Trick is no stranger to hip hop, with a long carrier already including two mainstream albums and several mix tapes Trick Trick has diffidently put in the work to deserve the title king of Detroit hip hop. He started out in the late 90s laying some vocals and doing remakes of west coast beats, idolizing Dr. Dre, ice cube and NWA. Soon after in the huge hip hop battles that went on in Detroit trick met a man named Marshal Mathers or famously known by Eminem. It is reported that trick saw Eminem when he first started going to these battles in Detroit and told a security guard to let him in so he could see what this loud white boy was all about. When Eminem got on stage with trick the crowd went crazy trick was first and said he kind of took it easy on Eminem and underestimated him. This was a huge mistake by trick as Eminem proceeded to murder trick on dr dre’s aint nothing but a g thang. From what I hear tricks mouth dropped half way through the battle and immediately after embraced Eminem and told him he would love to work with him in the future. But this was not taken this way by tricks camp goon squad who grabbed Eminem in the parking lot and called trick out to take care of him. When trick saw what was going on he grabbed his dj that was holding Eminem against a car and knocked him out. He then gave Eminem his number and studio information. The next day Eminem showed up at the studio and he and trick started work on Eminem’s first album infinite. They completed the album in 1998; it went on to have a very limited amount of commercial success. Most people claimed that Eminem ripped off nas’s sound and compared his style to that of most New York rappers, saying quote he was jacking their style. Trick responded by doing an interview with FM 98 wjlb were he defended Eminem, and called all Detroit artists to do a compilation mixtape to show case all the best in Detroit. This sparked an interest in Detroit hip hop in 1998 and Eminem credits this movement along with many other things in dr dre’s decision to sign him when he went out to California to meet him. After this the compilation mixtape never happened and trick was at the lowest point in his career. But in 2005 after his fourth album Eminem came back and put trick trick on with an appearance on tricks first album the people vs. on the single welcome to Detroit. This single was and still holds the record for most radio plays on a Detroit radio station ever. Trick followed up with his second album the villain and a feature on Eminem’s 2009 single from the d. this opened up trick trick to a nationwide audience and as a result his second album the villain doubled its prediceccer after nearly a month of downed sales. Bottom line trick has given away beats to every artist to ever come out of the d and has received the most commercial success while still staying true to the hood he grew up in and collaborations with Eminem on a regular basis doesn’t hurt either.
