The company Dirty Glove ENT for those of you who don’t know is a record company based in Detroit Michigan. Now I know everyone has heard of the classic failures of record companies in the Midwest, but the difference between those companies and this one is who runs this one. K Deezy the boss of this company alongside the legendary blade icewood and now replacement to icewood; Juan run this company that has almost exclusively captured 80% of the talent that comes out or is coming out of Detroit Michigan. Based on 7 mile on the west side of Detroit close to k deezys life time home of joy road, dirty glove entertainment has grown from a myth to a company to a rite of passage for any artist that wants to come out of the west side of Detroit. It all started back in 1998 when k deezy approached the street lordz mafia rap group and auditioned to join them. The street lordz immediately took to deezys style and welcomed him in, but more than just k deezy came to the street lordz after that. You see k deezy didn’t just wake up one day and decide he was going to be a rapper; he had been thinking and planning his rise up the ranks in Detroit’s hip hop scene for a few years now. What he brought with him to the street lordz was his group of rappers made up of Malik, Juan, Jessie James, lady blade, blade ice wood, and G rock. Now before deezy the street lordz consisted of two small time rappers that were unable to break their records anywhere because they didn’t have street credibility other than being from the naborhood. But what k deezy, blade icewood, and Juan brought to the table was their collective rap skill which was making noise around the naborhood, but more importantly they were connected with BMF or (Black Mafia Families) run by the legendary Big Meech. Plus Juan worked for a drug cartel in Texas so this combined with big meechs roll they had all the credibility they needed. So the group got together in 1999 and formed the street lordz mafia. They proceeded to release their first cd together entitled Platinum Rolees Don't Tic Toc. This was a massive hit and is held as a classic in Detroit rap music with the lead single being Come Roll With a Nigga. This song is still heard playing in just about every Detroit club that plays rap music on the west side and some on the east side. Sadly this group would not last as they were disbanded after this cd came out. So in 2000 k deezy left with his crew and started Dirty Glove ENT. They then started work on k deezys first solo album stuck in my ways. This album is another classic on the Detroit rap scene, and is one of my personal favorite albums by an artist from Detroit. When released the album did phenomenal, doing twice as good sales wise as Platinum Rolees don’t tic toc. After this though there was some trouble with blade icewood who got into a beef with the rap group the east side chedda boyz. This resulted in a couple of dis songs between both sides and subsequently escalated when blade ice wood was shot 7 times with an ak47 assault rifle in Detroit. Miraculously he survived but was paralyzed from the knees down meaning he would never walk again. This only fired blade icewood up and he came back with a legendary dis track aimed directly back at the eastside chedda boys. Within one week the beef had escalated to two associated members of the eastside chedda boys being killed by multiple gunshot wounds to the chest in a couple of drive by shootings. The beef was then covered by a local news station fox 2 were the beef was described as a murderous rap war. The beef finally ended in 2005 when blade icewood was shot and killed on the west side of Detroit the case is still unsolved. But Dirty Glove ENT is still around today now reenergized with new talent such as Dusty Mcfly coming out and almost as a testament to the city where it comes from Dirty Glove ENT continues to fight through adversity and seems to be making a comeback for the new generation of Dirty Glove ENT fans.
